»Akka« is equipped with a »Farymann R 30 M« diesel engine:
  • capacity: 1200 cc
    (73.23 cu in)
  • output: 20 hp (14.71 kW) at 2500 rpm
  • 3,400 operating hours (1).

The engine compartment is noise-insulated on five sides. In conjunction with the solid engine compartment door – giving access to the engine from the cabin – this leads to very low noise levels when using the engine.

Under engine, the boat is propelled by a thrust-bearing shaft. A highly flexible »VULKAN MEGIFLEX« coupling connects the gearbox flange to the shaft flange.

The compression gland is water-lubricated, as is the rubber bearing at the propeller end. There, the stainless-steel propeller shaft is hard-metal coated and therefore maintenance-free.

A bronze SPW variable-pitch propeller transmits the power of the engine into the water.

For servicing, both engine and shaft are easily accessible from all sides.

(1) The manufacturer recommends an engine overhaul after 10,000 operating hours.
