Sailing yacht »Akka« is equipped for bluewater cruising. Her gear includes, among other things:
- 25 m (82ft) of stainless-steel anchor chain, Ø 8 mm (5⁄16in), in a chain box (to be operated manually by a LOFRANS anchor winch);
- a 30 m (98ft 5in) anchor rope with lead ballast plus a 30 m anchor extension rope

- a forged aluminium FOB anchor
- a LOPOLIGHT masthead unit including a three-colour lantern (range: 5 NM), an anchor light and a strobe light

- a permanently transom-mounted bathing ladder, the lowest step of which folds down to 60 cm (1ft 11.6in) below the surface

- a SAILOR RT 48 marine radio, a barograph, a log and a LOWRANCE HDS7 Gen3 chartplotter including a »structure scan« depthsounder
- a fully tunable LOWE RF-250 shortwave receiver with preselector coupled to an RTTY decoder

Halyards, shrouds, stays and sheets have recently been replaced by new material. Indispensible wear-and-tear parts are kept in the boat as spares. |
